Technology and the Iowa Core Curriculum are powerful tools to help us on this path. Talking? Noise? Sharing your paper? It is now so often the RIGHT thing for a student to do! How wonderful! Of course now my teacher brain says....How often? How much? When do I need to have a quiet room, too? Finding a good balance is never easy! So - onward with the learning that I need to do! I feel like there is so much more now than just the same old practices that we seem to fall into year after year. I too have really asked myself some difficult questions in regards to how or why I teach something. It has helped a ton. It sounds like there are great things going on in elementary classrooms.
